Casa Bassa

Bright contemporary furnishings contrast and complement the beautiful original features of this lovingly restored farmhouse. Elegantly detailed, but with a very different atmosphere to La Torre, Casa Bassa is infused with a bold, modern aesthetic.

Surrounded on all sides by the estate, overlooking a view that stretches towards Orvieto, it is a secluded sanctuary that wants for nothing.

Modern technology is seamlessly integrated into the classic Italian life. Days are filled exploring the surrounding countryside or relaxing by the heated pool; evenings on the terrace, or by the traditional stone barbecue or pizza oven gently warming the evening breeze.

"Our stay here was truly magical. Thank you for your help and information…and your friendship (Sabina)! It was wonderful to have met you, Cynthia and the dogs! To a person we all said we would not hesitate to return here or recommend Casa Bassa to our friends. Thank you for everything. We are truly sad to leave. We had such fun here! "

"I just wanted to emphasize that we were very very satisfied with our stay at Casa Bassa. We have selected various stunning catered top-level locations during the past few years in Tuscany and Umbria for our company’s yearly partners retreat, and torre bisenzio clearly tops our list. Although our previous locations might have scored a bit better in terms of scenery and interior design, Torre Bisenzio completely surpasses all other venues with its flawless and hospitable service. Your follow-up prior to our arrival was flawless. And Sabina’s (and Cynthia’s) assistance during our stay were pure perfection: genuine, superfriendly, always ready for an extra (s)mile, and subtle when they realized we were engaged in serious discussions. You have two gems on board, and they are definitely the main reason why it is very likely that we will return next year! Thanks again and hope to see you next year! "

"We just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for our lovely stay at Casa Basa at the beginning of August. The villa is so beautiful and well looked after, and we had endless fun games in the pool! Sabina was super at looking after us, and couldn’t have been more ready to help. It was a real highlight for the children when she came and made the fresh pizza’s and we all got to try our hand! Thank you very much! "

"The villa is unbelievably beautiful, clean and well equipped . Sabina is just great, she came on time and maintained the villa as a villa like this should be . She also helped us with good visit tips around. For many years we usually book a villa for our family vacation, this one was the best! So thanks for everything and hope that next time we will take the Torre villa with the all family ....."

"It was a wonderful, relaxing and perfect stay in your house. Very clean house, sunny weather, many hours on the bicycles, perfect pool and good dinner every day. Thank you very much."

"We had a wonderful stay at Casa Bassa--the house is every bit as beautiful as the pictures, and the pool and grounds are stunning. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds and sitting areas were very comfortable. We did some exploring in nearby towns, but also spent some days just relaxing at the house and enjoying the pool and the beautiful views from the patio. Cynthia, the housekeeper, was extremely helpful--available whenever we needed her but not obtrusive. She prepared two delicious meals for us and we also hired a local cook one night and enjoyed fantastic meals in several of the nearby restaurants. We highly recommend the villa and hope to have the chance to return."

"My family first stayed at Casa Bassa in July 2010 and we returned in July 2012, as we had such a restful stay in the villa. The farmhouse is sympathetically restored, retaining character but with every modern convenience. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Cynthia, the housekeeper, calls in regularly to ensure that guests are comfortable and have all that they require for a relaxing stay, including a welcome gift of a bottle of the estate’s own delicious olive oil. Cynthia’s husband discreetly tends the gardens and we were lucky enough to be given the excess from the vegetable gardens to supplement our evening barbecues. The views from the terrace are stunning, the only noise being the distant bleating of the estate farm sheep. Casa Bassa is such a haven of relaxation that we had to tear ourselves away to visit Orvieto. Ideas of day trips to Rome and Florence were quickly abandoned in favour of relaxing by the pool! We have booked a return stay in August this year and cannot wait."

"What can I say about Casa Bassa? It’s a little piece of Heaven! We stayed there during our summer holiday in August 2011 and it gave us everything we wanted from a holiday; peace and quiet in a beautiful setting but close enough to interesting places to visit and sightsee (a car is a must). The farmhouse itself is gorgeous with every mod con catered for as well as beautifully landscaped gardens, balcony terrace (with stunning panoramic views), patios and pool area. It’s an hour’s drive from Florence and about 1.5 hours from Rome so there are plenty of interesting and wonderful places to visit as well as a local town 10 mins away for buying food and other essentials. Would we go back? Definitely, we booked for 2012 before we left! "

"La Magnolia was the best equipped self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. One of the most impressive features was the attention that had been given to both the exterior and interior design. So many of the features were quite luxurious. The pool garden(s) and barbeque areas were much enjoyed; the views quite magnificient. The service provide by the local manager was excellent, all you would expect plus so many additional thoughtful touches. We would thouroughly recommend this accommodation."
